As hopefully most people know by now that parkrun is totally, 100% a not-for-profit organisation, run totally by volunteers. We can't keep going week after week without these amazing people donating a few hours of their time on a Saturday morning. But I'm 100% confident when I say that everyone gets so much more back in return than what they donate in time! The reward is seeing people have fun, being active in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We claim that EVERYONE is welcome at parkrun and this is proven every week when we welcome people from different backgrounds and abilities. Joggers, walkers, families, dogs, strollers and runners of all levels are welcome to come and join in the fun and share with each other their experiences over a "fika" at Naturens Hus afterwards. What a fantastic way to start your weekend.

Örebro parkrun in all its autumn splendour

This week 80 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 10 were first timers and 32 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 4 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 8 volunteers:
Matt FORD • Andrew LOWRY • Maria ENGSTRÖM • Julia HAMMARSTRÖM • Thomas BERGMAN • Lasse SJÖSTRAND • Jimmy GLINNERÅS • Nicklas FORSLING

Now were talking! 80 parkrunners this week, mixed ages, sexes, abilities, dogs and strollers, walkers and runners. It really feels like we have established a event which is here to stay in Örebro and the word is spreading about how much fun it is both as a participant and a volunteer. Perfect weather for being outdoors and active (isn't it always like that between 09.30-10.30 around Rynningeviken?)

Well done Elina to a PB - look at the "löpaglädje"

32 (YES 32) new pb's today! parkrun absolutely isn't about winning, racing or competing BUT about encouraging being consistently active in a warm and friendly environment, where EVERYONE feels welcome and celebrating PB's is a great way of measuring progress.

The kick we get from all the positive feedback is fantastic and just encourages us to strive forward, spreading the word and encouraging an even more diverse group of parkrunners.

It's also really great to see so many new friendships forming. People that had never previously met but have now a common thread every Saturday morning at parkrun (including fika).

Örebro parkrun #25 run report

Örebro parkrun #25 var IF Starts parkrun day!
Örebro Parkrun
Rörelseglädje=parkrun!
